How do you clean the flanges?
Giving you peace of mind and keeping your little one safe is our top priority. That's why we researched and consulted with industry experts to design a cleaning process for the flanges, inserts, and cushions.
The cleaning process consists of the following four steps:
- Inspect: Each item is inspected for damages, such as, cracks, and warping.
- Clean: The flanges, inserts, and cushions are washed using enzymatic products and then thoroughly rinsed.
- Sanitize: After the items are washed, they are sanitized by using disinfectants to reduce microbial contaminants level. After the products are dry they are packaged individually in poly bags and sealed.
- Sterilize: All the packaged items will be put in a low-temperature sterilization system. We chose the low-temperature method to prevent warping or damaging the items, and allowing the products to be sterilized in their packaging so that no one is touching the flanges/inserts/cushions until the customers open them up.
We keep track of the frequency that each item has been used and rotate them out on a regular basis.
How long can I keep the TryMẹ kit?
You can keep the kit for 2 weeks. But you're welcome to return it sooner.
What’s the Add-On?
The Add-On currently is for the BeauGen cushions. These inserts are expensive and need to be replaced on a regular basis. Due to these factors and we’re a small business, they’re only available to try for an additional fee.
Why should I use the TryMẹ kit instead of seeing a lactation consultant?
Since using the wrong flange size is usually the reason for issues with pumping, the TryMẹ kit can be a quick solution. If you have any other problems and/or need medical advice, then it’s best that you work with a lactation consultant.
I tried the flanges but none of them fit me well (I don’t like them?). What do I do?
Reach out to let us know what is not working for you, and we’ll try to help you as best as we can.
What if I forgot to send back my TryMẹ kit?
You’re busy and these things can slip through the cracks. We understand! In this case, we’ll reach out to remind you. If we don't hear back from you then we’re assuming that you’re keeping the kit, and you will be charged the full retail price of the kit.
Do I need to clean flanges before sending them back?
No, you do not have to clean them. You’re busy enough as it is, so let us make this one small part in your life easier. We’ll clean, disinfect, and sterilize them when we received them. We do ask that the parts are dry before you mail them because you can’t ship things that are dripping wet and it prevents mold.
Why do I have to pay for the TryMẹ kit?
The price of the kit covers the cost of cleaning and sterilizing the items as well as some overhead expenses. In fact, the price doesn’t fully cover those costs, and we’re not making any profit off of it. Our profit comes from the full-priced items that we sell in our online shop. That’s why we’re not able to provide the kit for free or apply the cost towards your future orders.
Why do I have to pay for shipping?
Short answer, shipping is expensive and we’re a bootstrapped startup so we can’t absorb the shipping costs right now. But we’ll cover the return shipping fees to make it easy for you. If you’re in the Bay Area, California, then you can pick it up or we can deliver it to you, free of charge.
Why is there a dot under the letter "e" in FittinglyMẹ?
Mẹ is a Vietnamese word that means mom. Vietnamese is a tonal language and the dot is a diacritic (accent mark) that tells you which tone to use. This wordplay leans on Anne's Vietnamese American background because you can read it as "mẹ" or "me."
